While in school, Dr. Kuhlmann specialized in specialty contact lens studies and disease evaluation and treatment. Dr. Kuhlmann is an associate professor at The Ohio State University. She has instructed students in clinical skills at the university, and at both the Veteran's Administration Outpatient Clinic in Columbus, and the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio. She continues to teach student externs at her own office at EyeCare Professionals of Powell.
Dr. Kuhlmann was the first eye doctor in Powell, Establishing EyeCare Professionals of Powell (previously Powell Eye Care) in 1987. She has been in practice with several Columbus eye surgeons, and has been consulting and co managing laser vision correction and cataract surgery since 1992. Dr. Kuhlmann was the first eye specialist in the area to be certified in the new non-surgical procedure of Corneal Refractive Therapy. This exciting new procedure is completely safe and reversible for all ages and may be helpful in arresting myopic progression in children. It can even improve a less than satisfactory laser surgical outcome.

Dr. Kuhlmann is also an active member of The American Optometric Association, the Powell Chamber of Commerce, and Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Dr. Kuhlmann has received a lifetime achievement award from "Who's Who in America," and was recognized as one of "America's Top Optometrists."
